# Avatar setup

> Give a flow a talking face: upload faces, choose expressions and transitions, and pick lip-sync settings.

## Before you begin

You need:

- A flow with a working voice.
- A short, front-facing, well-lit clip or photo of the face for each expression (neutral at least).

1. Upload faces on **Avatars**. Each is prepared once for lip-sync.
2. On the flow's **Avatar** tab, add expressions from your faces and say when each is used.
3. Optionally add transitions between expressions.
4. Test it on the Test tab with a face layout, then embed it with [<voxio-avatar>](https://voxio.in/docs/avatar.md).
